Launch of SoL (Singapore)

Updated: Jul 17, 2019

The Society for Organizational Learning, Singapore known as SoL (Singapore) is pleased to announce the launch of its Singapore chapter and its inaugural event to be held on March 10th.

SoL (Singapore) has been accepted as a member of the Global Association of SoL Communities, a global network of organisations, researchers, and consultants. Founded in 1997, SoL's principles are based on the work of its Founding Chairman, Peter M. Senge, Ph.D., identified by HBR as seminal management book. Dr. Senge, a senior lecturer at MIT, was named Strategist of the Century by the Journal of Business Strategy (1999) and is ranked as one of the world's top business gurus by the FT and Business Week.

The purpose of SoL is to discover, integrate, and implement theories and practices for the interdependent development of people and their institutions. The longer term vision of the Singapore society is to become the lead Thinking Partner to build sustainable engagement within and among the private, public, and academic sectors in Singapore and the SEA region.

Tara Kimbrell Cole, Founding President and Board Chair of SoL Singapore, quote, "The founding members and board are honored to be accepted in this globally esteemed thought-leading organisation. In this interdependent world of change and complexity, learning organizations are more critical than ever before. The opportunity to make SoL's research and methodologies more accessible to Singapore and the region through our chapter is a very exciting prospect."

The Inaugural event will give attendees the opportunity to experience SoL's approach to learning in the context of grappling with the question - what is needed to thrive in complexity? The event will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at the American Club, 10 Claymore Hill, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The ticket price is S$40.
