International Coach Federation, Singapore Chapter, Interview with Tara Kimbrell Cole

How did you get into coaching?

As the complexity of our world increased exponentially (and continues to do so), after decades of rich experience in business across four continents, solving complex problems through innovative solutions and more than five years of training in human development, I was so deeply moved by the shift in my own consciousness and passion to do 'whatever I could' to make a difference that I 'could do no other' than begin working in authentic leadership development and related areas. I realized that the most meaningful way for me to serve was not to bring forward yet another innovation but rather to catalyze innovative thoughts in others that would enable them to deliver sustainable solutions in their businesses and lives.

How did you discover your passion?

What's been the biggest shift in your professional life? Personal life?

Perhaps it was through my experience of Einstein, with whom I was blessed to spend time as a very young child; passion for that which I do has been a part of who I am for most of my life. Indeed it was Einstein's deep resonance with nature that called me to discover my own, motivating me to leave Manhattan without a destination and for the completely unknown in 1988. This facilitated the biggest shift in my personal and professional life.

For the last 8 years, my passion has been to inspire and coach individuals to connect to the true source from which they operate, develop personal mastery so as to become fully actualized authentic human beings, understand the consequences of their actions (intended and unintended) and deepen their awareness of the whole system, a comprehensive consciousness, so that sustainable solutions will lead all of us to the future of our highest potential.

What do you see as the value of your ICF credential? Why?

Regulatory organizations are essential, the lack of which can be seen in the financial, environmental and social chaos, the world is currently experiencing.

What's tips would you give others interested in the coaching profession?

Develop your own self awareness, your ability for deep reflection, your own self mastery. In the words of Master Nan Hai Chan, quote, "You have to be a real human being, You must recognise the true meaning of life…... You must understand yourself first."

Use this journey to guide you in facilitating others on the path so that, in the words of Einstein, quote "Concern for man himself and his fate must always form the chief interest of all…endeavors...in order that the creations of our mind shall be a blessing and not a curse to mankind."
